Maritime Concert Opera is celebrating 20 years of opera!!!
I’m going to be singing song classics with some beautiful friends. If you can make it to à Lunenburg Sunday afternoon at 2:30pm, we’d love to celebrate with you!

Text under the frame is a shortened version of the following: Join us for an afternoon of favourites from operetta and opera as we celebrate 20 years of friendly and accessible performances of classical music with Maritime Concert Opera!

Since 2003, MCO has presented over 35 full-length productions in concert, including Bizet’s Carmen, Mozart’s The Magic Flute and Don Giovanni, Verdi’s La Traviata and Rigoletto, Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Suor Angelica and La boheme and a number of operettas, including Gilbert and Sullivan’s Mikado, Pirates of Penzance and HMS Pinafore as well as Lehar’s The Merry Widow and Strauss’s Die Fledermaus.

Excerpts from many of these works will be performed at the concert on October 22nd, performed by well-known local singers, including sopranos Maureen Batt and Beth Hagerman, tenors Patrick Simms and Andrew Pelrine, countertenor Andrew Pickett, baritone Rob O’Quinn and bass-baritone Jon-Paul Décosse and mezzo Nina Scott-Stoddart, accompanied by pianist Tara Scott.

Tickets are $25 per person and are available at Kinley’s in Lunenburg or on Eventbrite online.

Also, I recently learned that people above 150lbs might need a differently sized needle. So this morning I called the pharmacy where I was about to get my vaccine and they had the different needles in stock… but they were in a storage room down the hall. And after a consultation with the pharmacist the differently sized needle was used on me! And I felt NOTHING.

VERY glad I asked. Otherwise it would have been the other, usual size and maybe not as effective for me.
