Maureen Batt – Tours as the Flirty Musetta with Maritime Concert Opera

June 19, Shelburne

June 21, Annapolis Royal

June 23, Lunenburg

Maureen Batt, soprano, returns to the South Shore of Nova Scotia, on tour with the Maritime Concert Opera company. She will be performing the role of Musetta in Puccini’s ever-loved opera La Bohème. This tour of La Bohème marks Maritime Concert Opera’s 15th season! The cast includes Halifax tenor Jason Davis as Rodolfo and Toronto soprano Beth Hagerman as Mimì. Maureen and Beth were just seen on stage together in Toronto at the Toronto Centre for the Arts performing Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi with Essential Opera and Orchestra Toronto.

Musetta is a fun-loving, fiery, flirty character who sings one of Puccini’s most famous arias “Quando m’en vo’”. One of the most popular operas across the board, La Bohème celebrates love and loss among a group of friends (starving artists!) in 19th century Paris. Its plot is timeless and its music is positively heart-wrenching.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear Maureen and the Maritime Concert Opera cast in this show!
